About 7Star
Meet Coach
Peewee
Twenty-one years at quarterback, from a Des Moines high school field to an NFL locker room — and now on the other side of the ball, coaching the next one.
Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa
Byron “Peewee” Jarrett Jr. has spent his whole life at one position. He grew up in Des Moines, started at quarterback at Hoover High School, and kept starting — through junior college, through Division II, and into a professional contract.
What he brings to 7Star isn't theory. It's two decades of live reps, hard coaching, and the specific knowledge of what a quarterback has to fix to play at the next level.
The journey
-
Hoover High School
Threw for over 5,000 yards and 50-plus touchdowns in two seasons, earning multiple accolades and setting multiple school records.
-
Iowa Central Community College
Named First Team All-American and broke every record at Iowa Central on the way to a Division II offer.
-
University of West Florida
Two seasons on the field and a degree with honors off it — and the first player in UWF history to throw for 5,000-plus yards and rush for 1,000.
-
New York Jets
Signed as an undrafted free agent after the 2024 NFL draft, then released due to a pre-existing knee injury. He retired a few months later, after multiple surgeries.
-

In the community
Mentorship first
Peewee serves as BHIS Supervisor at Innovative Counseling and Consulting in Des Moines, where he works with young people on the skills they need in everyday life — leadership, accountability, and follow-through. That work is the reason 7Star holds athletes to a standard beyond the field.
Off the field
Family man
When he isn't coaching, Peewee spends his time with his son, Byron “Trey” Jarrett III, his fiancée, and his family. He remains a pillar in the Des Moines community, making an impact through sports and well outside of them.
Why 7Star
Built for the athletes coming next
7Star exists to give quarterbacks and 7v7 athletes in Iowa the coaching, the reps, and the exposure that usually require leaving the state to find. One year into coaching, the platform is already two programs deep — individual quarterback development and a travel team built to be premier.
